PITCHING INSTRUCTION
Cutting-edge Design
Rooted in the scientific study of movement, the pitching program blends modern research with practical application to help pitchers unlock their full potential.
Black Cat Fastpitch, LLC brings a wealth of knowledge from sources such as Motor Preferences Experts™, the work of renowned movement scientist and author Adarian Barr, principles from Tincher Pitching™ and other progressive biomechanical methodologies. This multi-disciplinary approach ensures that every athlete benefits from a deep understanding of how their body moves best—promoting efficiency, injury reduction, and improved performance.

Small Group Sessions, Big-Time Development
Throughout the year, pitchers will have the opportunity to train in small-group settings with peers from across the Mystics (PA - Garrett) organization. These sessions will focus on individual growth through movement-based drills and concepts, not cookie-cutter mechanics. Athletes will gain tools they can apply immediately.

Black Cat Fastpitch, LLC is highly respectful of the fact that many athletes work with personal pitching coaches. Our goal is not to replace or override those teachings, but rather to complement and enhance each athlete's existing instruction. We believe in building better movers and smarter pitchers without derailing the progress they've already made. This is a chance to take your pitching to the next level with an innovative, science-backed approach—right here within the Mystics family.

RECRUITING MANAGEMENT

Led by Coach Leigh Elko, this program is built on three foundational pillars: Education, Mentorship, and Accountability—ensuring athletes and families are guided through every step of the college recruiting journey with confidence and clarity.
With a strong academic background in psychology and clinical counseling—earning her bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College (2010) and two Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (2012, 2013)—Coach Leigh Elko brings a unique and empathetic lens to the recruiting process. Her experience in counseling helps her connect deeply with athletes and families, fostering an environment of trust, goal-setting, and emotional resilience during what can often be an overwhelming and high-stakes process.

With the combined strength of the PA Mystics program and Black Cat Fastpitch’s expertise, athletes are empowered to approach recruiting with purpose, preparation, and peace of mind.

Education
Athletes and their families will be equipped with the knowledge needed to navigate the recruiting landscape. From understanding NCAA rules and eligibility to creating a targeted list of schools and building a professional recruiting presence, the focus is on empowering athletes to make informed decisions about their futures—on and off the field.
Mentorship
Recruiting is more than just emails and showcases—it's about personal growth and finding the right fit. Coach Elko provides individualized guidance that goes beyond softball skills, helping athletes reflect on their values, academic interests, team culture preferences, and long-term goals. This mentorship helps ensure that each athlete is pursuing schools that align with who they are and what they aspire to become.
Accountability
Success in the recruiting process requires consistency and commitment. Athletes will receive structured support and check-ins to help them stay on track with communication, outreach, and timelines. This pillar ensures athletes remain proactive and focused throughout the process, reducing stress and increasing results.
